Outpost Security

Tech Startup in the Enterprise Security Industry

Founder & CEO, Will Robus engaged with me as their Fractional Creative Director to help them develop and launch a content strategy for their 4 year old tech startup. Listen to what Will has to say about making the decision to bring me on.

Product Launch Video

The founders had created a highly effective enterprise security solution built on Splunk, the industry leading data analysis platform, without any direct competitors. But it was a new methodology and every industry has some resistance to change.

When they speak to clients directly, they are able to convey value that outweighs their resistance. We needed that value to be felt earlier in the customer experience.

The first step was developing a product video.

Animation content still - analysts in a cloud of security alerts
Animation content still - analysts top of castle looking at hazy landscape
Animation content still - analysts in cloud of security alerts platform rising
Animation content still - analysts viewing landscape question marks alerts pop up over enemy tents
Animation content still - pillar rising above cloud of alerts, text: zero to one logo
Animation content still - analysts viewing clear landscape with decisive green and red checks over different tents

Website Relaunch

Website content - outpost security homepage, video link, text: gain a towering advantage over attackers with RBA Zero to one

Launching a new product required a new website landing page, so we decided to redesign the home page to focus on the product.

That way all eyes for the near future would be focused on this specific offering.

With the video front in center, the rest of the page reiterated the points made in the video and in some instances expanded on them.

More content was developed after the launch to continue to showcase their tiered offerings.

Website content - text: level one rba functionality in four weeks, icons for promised value
Website content - quote: every other solution we looked at was an incremental change. I knew we needed to change the game. - Global IT Security Director
Website content - comparison chart between zero RBA and zero to one RBA
Website content - screen shot of rba zero to one app dashboard

Infographics & Iconography

Visuals aid in conveying technical ideas throughout their content.

Podcast Production

We determined that a podcast would be a suitable medium for the two of them, given their ability to tell stories, to share technical knowledge & build trust.

The founders had previously attempted to start a podcast but they lacked the time to properly get it off the ground.

Through the production of episode 1 we identified potential topics, developed outline templates, and created the intro and outro music & voice.

With the standard created we found partners to be able to fulfill production requirements for bi-weekly releases and video clips for social.

Project Summary

In our first year working with Outpost Security we were able to help them strategize, build, launch, & maintain a variety of one-off and reoccurring projects.

We launched a new product, a new website, a podcast, a youtube channel, maintained a daily content calendar on Linkedin and saw engagement go through the roof.
