Acadicus
Virtual Reality Medical Classroom
Acadicus wanted a way to market their VR Training Software to colleges with nursing programs as a less expensive alternative to manikins and large building expansions. Not only that but as a replacement for the clinical experience nursing students needed to graduate at a time when clinical placements are diminishing.
I provided monthly marketing coaching to help founder, Jon Brouchoud, evaluate & execute his marketing strategy with his team. We also worked on two micro-documentaries and two case studies to tell stories of the community.

Flagship Video & B-roll Library
The goal of this project was to tell the story of the innovation Acadicus is bringing to the nursing education industry.
Rather than present the information with a brand voice, we used the voices of the partners & clients who believe in Acadicus & the future it promises.
We also wanted to tell the stories of two clients. So we planned one full-day shoot to capture footage to serve all three videos, & have b-roll footage/photography for use on website & social.
Notice the screen shots below how each video took on it’s own color scheme to differentiate the story.
4 Interviewees, 6 On-screen actors, 2 cameras, 2 locations, 9 shots, dozens of stock footage clips.
This project could not have been completed without the amazing film crew at Bravebird and the amazingly talented filmmaker Alejandro Miranda. They were easy to work with, know their craft, and allowed me to guide them through our goals and expectations. The film days were fun and what we captured was gold.
Madison College XR Center
Madison College had recently built an Extended Reality (XR) Center which was a fantastic backdrop for interviews and showing actors, posing as nursing students, using VR equipment.
2 Interviewees
2 Camera shoot
4 On-screen actors
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine
The other case study featured Wisconsin’s premier university with one of their top neonatal physician/educators.
We used a conference room for this whole video as they use smaller, mobile systems for maximum flexibility.
2 Interviewees were also our on-screen actors
2 Camera shoot
OpenRN Mini-Documentary
Jon wanted to tell the OpenRN story because it was a major collaboration between schools in his target audience & Acadicus.
Together they used a government grant to build textbooks and VR training labs that any nursing school can use for FREE.
And it was another opportunity to get b-roll footage of a VR Classroom in action.
Project Summary
With only 2 full-day video shoots we captured enough interview & b-roll footage to produce 4 mini-documentary length videos, with additional short-form videos.
The Acadicus team has been able to use the b-roll photography and videos across dozens of social media posts
